Ban Be Ca Phe Restaurant Antipolo

Only having opened in early 2017, the Ban Be Ca Phe Restaurant is one of the latest to join the vastly underrated Antipolo dining scene.

Ban Be Ca Phe Restaurant

The Ban Be Ca Phe Restaurant is Vietnamese-Filipino dining so if you are looking for something a little different then this could be the answer. Located in a cozy but charming nook just a stones throw from Robinson’s, making it the perfect spot for both lunch or dinner.

The cafe can be divided into three key areas… The veranda, an inside dinning area and a traditional Vietnamese sitting area. The interior design is quaint and creative.. At first I wasn’t sure about the design but after a while I started to appreciate it.

We were there for lunch so was not able to review it at night but during the day it still had charm.

We didn’t get to try the traditional sitting area as we opted to eat in the dining area instead.

All of those who have been reading our blog will know that I love my coffee (one of many weaknesses). So, it is no surprise to know the first thing I did on arrival was to order a “Ca Phe Sua Da” which is the Ban Be Ca Phe Restaurant’s signature Vietnamese iced milk coffee. Imagine coffee coated with a creamy layer of condensed milk and then drizzled with a classic Vietnamese tin coffee drip… 65Php of absolute heaven…

Sorry, before I knew it the coffee was gone and I hadn’t taken a pic… That’s good reason to go back for another… (lol).

The Food

We both tried the Pho (beef) soup. it was good, tasty with plenty of meat and vegetables. We both enjoyed it.

Goi Cuon

Goi Cuon, also known as Vietnamese spring rolls are packed with noodles, lettuce, shrimp and tons of flavor. Ban Be Ca Phe’s spring rolls are very delicious and satisfying, I highly recommend them and also the fried version (which I was able to sneak a taste of). Both the normal and fried versions are very reasonably priced (110Php I think). Try them, they are addictive.

Chicken Sisig

Chicken Sisig

Now, I must say from the outset, I am not a big fan of Sisig.. I have been to a few restaurants whee I was not overly impressed with the Sisig so for a while I had stayed away from it. But, today was the day that Gary was able to convince me to try it again… and I am pleasantly surprised that I did.

At 130Php you get a generous serving of Sisig that both looks and smells very good. I hesitantly took my first mouthful of Chicken Sisig and was amazed at how delicious it was. Now, it wasn’t perfect.. out of ten I would give it an eight.. But still, this was a dish that I enjoyed.

and oh… I almost forgot… I did go back for another….

Conclusion

Even though we only came here for lunch we were able to get a good feel for the restaurant, the staff and the food.

The food was good and value for money. The portion sizes were good and there was plenty of taste.Being a Vietnamese-Filipino restaurant, Ban Be Ca Phe was able to put there own touch and style to many of the dishes creating something that isn’t strictly traditional but still not far from it.

The staff were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant but relaxing. I can see it being a perfect place for a candlelit dinner with someone special or just a place to catch up with friends at.

We both enjoyed or time and our meals and 2HotTravellers happily recommends Ban Be Ca Phe Restaurant.

If you have been to this restaurant and would like to help us rate it.. Here is your chance.
